When the jailer approached Paul and Silas, his question was clear and direct: “ Sirs, what must I do to be saved? ” (Acts 16:30) This was not a simple question about religion or morality. It was a question about salvation itself. What does the text clearly say? 1. A clear answer was given. Paul and Silas answered: “ Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved… ” (Acts 16:31) After this: “ And they spoke the word of the Lord to him… ” (v.32) Observation: Faith is the central response that was emphasized. But not only what must be done (v.31) was explained, but also the word of God (v.32). 2. There was an immediate response from the jailer. The text shows a sequence of actions: • He listened to the word (v.32) • He showed care (washed their wounds, v.33) • He and his household were baptized (v.33) Observation: The jailer did not merely listen—he responded immediately. 3. Nang ang tagapagbantay ay lumapit kina Pablo at Silas, ang kanyang tanong ay malinaw at direkta: “Mga ginoo, ano ang dapat kong gawin upang maligtas?” ( Gawa 16:30 ) Hindi ito simpleng tanong tungkol sa relihiyon o moralidad. Ito ay tanong tungkol sa kaligtasan mismo. Ano ang malinaw na sinasabi ng teksto? 1. May malinaw na sagot na ibinigay.
